To serve, educate and provide for the desperate and deserted orphans and HIV infected widows with children through individualized, family-centred, community-focused care. We strive for every orphan to have a humane chance in life.

Izulu Orphan Projects, IOP, is a non profit organisation, helping the ever increasing number of orphans and HIV positive widows in there distress. We are not an orphanage but assist on a home based care system through a caregiver.

Founded in 2002 by Chadd and Kate Bain, based from their family home in the tribal districts inland of Empangeni, IOP has grown from humble beginnings supporting 80 orphans to now supporting 840 orphans and 330 families.

The IOP vision is a community based environment focused on education and nutrition. IOP provide a wide range of other services in their endeavours to ensure the communities are as strong as possible (are as happy as possible).

The families are supported through the following:

• Full school fees and school uniforms
• Regular food parcels
• 24 hour emergency support and transport for the sick
• Regular homestead visits including the distribution of donations such as clothing, blankets
• Assistance with government grants
• Weekly church services.
